Bio - Brian Tobin
Brian Tobin, CCSE, is Technical Lead for implementation
and support of both Crossbeam appliances and Checkpoint firewalls at
a large health care company. His team implements and supports over
100 Checkpoint firewalls running on Crossbeam hardware in support of
over 100,000 employees. Brian has worked on Checkpoint Firewall
since version 4.0 on Windows NT and every version (both good and
bad) since. From this start, he has always had an interest in
network security and the various ways to keep a network safe.
As an independent contractor, Brian has worked with various
governments, financial and healthcare related firms to implement
more robust security solutions running Checkpoint Firewall,
Cyberguard, WatchGuard, Altavista, Raptor and SonicWall. His current
employer, a large healthcare company, employees over 100,000 across
300 countries supporting over 120 perimeter environments, all
running Checkpoint Firewall (R65 & R70). Brian is the lead of the
Perimeter Provisioning department, which involves responsibilities
in engineering, delivery and operations of the entire perimeter
infrastructure.
